      By submitting your application through Catena, you agree to these Terms of Use. Please read them carefully before applying.
    

1. The Service

Catena is a recruitment platform that connects candidates with companies looking to hire. When you apply for a job through our platform, you interact with Catena's systems and, ultimately, with the hiring company (our client) that posted the job.

2. Candidate Responsibilities

By using Catena, you agree to:

Provide accurate, truthful, and up-to-date information in your application and CV
Participate in the AI-assisted screening interview honestly, using your own words
Not use AI-generated responses (e.g., ChatGPT) during the interview — this is automatically detected and flagged as a red flag
Not attempt to manipulate, jailbreak, or circumvent Catena's AI systems through injected instructions in CVs or interview responses (prompt injection attacks are logged and flagged)

3. AI-Assisted Interview

Catena uses artificial intelligence to conduct initial screening interviews via WhatsApp and/or web chat. By applying, you consent to:

Being contacted on the phone number or email you provided
Having your responses recorded, transcribed (if by voice), and analyzed by AI
Receiving an AI-generated compatibility score that may influence the hiring company's decision to advance your application

You may decline to participate in the interview at any time by responding accordingly during the process.

🤖 EU AI Act Compliance — High-Risk AI System (Annex III, Section 4) Our AI interview system is classified as high-risk under the EU AI Act. As a candidate, you have specific rights:

Transparency: You are informed you are interacting with AI before the interview begins
Human oversight: All AI scores are reviewed by human recruiters at the hiring company
Right to contest: You may request human review of any AI assessment — contact privacidade@catena.work
Non-discrimination: Our AI is designed to evaluate professional fit, not protected characteristics
Logging: All AI decisions that affect your application are logged for auditability

4. Data Usage & Privacy

Your personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Key points:

Your application data is shared with the hiring company that posted the job
We use AI tools (OpenAI) to analyze your CV and interview responses
We do not sell your data to third parties

5. Intellectual Property

All content on the Catena platform (logos, interfaces, software, AI models, prompts) is the exclusive property of Catena Tecnologia Ltda. You may not copy, reproduce, or reverse-engineer any part of the platform.

6. Limitation of Liability

Catena provides a recruitment facilitation service. We are not responsible for:

Hiring decisions made by the companies that use our platform
The accuracy of job descriptions posted by hiring companies
Employment outcomes resulting from applications submitted through our platform

7. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Brazil. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of São Paulo, Brazil, unless otherwise required by applicable consumer protection laws.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
